A witty comical and at times sad insight into the life of a Dominatrix
Instant Whips And Dream Toppings is a fantastic read!
A book that I found hard to put down!
A very candid witty look into the life of a Dominatrix that will slightly shock, delight and tittillate the senses!
As I read, I found myself drawn into Jacky's world and felt like I was actually there in the streets of London!
I love the way the book skips back and forth between past and present explaining how different situations lead to how Jacky evolved to become a Dominatrix rather than simply deciding on a whim that this is what she wanted!
It teaches us not to judge anyone in any situation on who they are now but to look deeper into how they have become the people they are now!
The book is a candid bitter sweet look at into the life of a character with some funny and sad happenings that could easily happen to any of us!
I feel the book has left an opening to an as yet unfinished story of on going trials and tribulations as is the case with us all.
This story is one of both comedy, tragedy poignancy and scattered throughout with funny musical references (look out for them!) and sad occurrences that will have you both laughing and crying simultaneously with Jacky
I was disappointed when the book had to come to an "end" although you do get the feeling that all is not over until the "not so fat lady sings!"
I can hardly wait for the next instalment and really hope there is going to be one!
I almost feel I know this lady and just wanted to give her a huge hug and congratulate a true survivor in this harsh world.
This is one book I will be reading again and I highly recommend you read it too!

The discovery of sex and its pleasures in its many (and strange) forms unfolding along a candid and amazing biography. Rich writing describing the transformation into a Dom and the shift from business office to dungeon. Not for the fainthearted!!

Well written and thought provoking
Jacky Donovan is living the life she has for years. She is married to a man eighteen years older, working in an IT firm and does not know what she is missing, until she starts a friendship with Max. It is an alluring and unusual companionship that enlivens and transforms Jackie's existence...just not in the ways you might think. It is witty, charming and extremely unpredictable. The author remains candid and unapologetic while opening doors to her hidden and often forbidden world. While promising a bold story of what does not get discussed at the dinner table, it also offers a vulnerable, raw, and loving perspective on basic human needs. It is uniquely funny in its bizarre, shocking, sexplicit stories with clients. I was lured into her delicious life and loved every second! If shockingly lovely is what you are looking for, get this book.
Funny, thought-provoking and well written
A really different BDSM book. Knocked 50 Shades - which I can't be bothered to review - into a cocked hat thank goodness. In Instant Whips ,with barely a mention of spanking or canes, the writer drew on a series of totally weird roleplay sessions she'd had with clients and brought them to life with a great deal of humour, plays on words and musical references. Who knew half these things existed? Not me for sure! The contrast with that side of her compared to her private life was striking and extremely well handled. Loved the way the story weaved backwards and forwards between her private life and her client sessions. I laughed out loud on several occasions. Sex scenes were quite raunchy and A great title which made complete sense by the time I got part way through. Such a clever play on words.

This is a very funny extremely tightly written book documenting the highs and lows of Jacky and her transformation into a dom. Sad in parts, funny in others, gripping all the way through. It really brings her world to life and the people she meets. I liked spotting the songs and other references. Sexy rather than sleazy, don't know why this book isn't getting as much press as that other, poorer relation that is doing the rounds....
